Interview with Lee Haslam ahead of BIG Heroes & Villains on 21 November 2009
BEM talks to Lee Haslam ahead of BIG: Heroes & Villains.
How has 2009 been for you?
Fantastic, arguably my best yet.. Playing for Cream and Judgement Sunday in Ibiza were real highlights. Also my beloved slinky has had a great year so I’m really please with how everything is going.
What do you think of the clubbing scene in 2009 has it got better or worse through the recent recession?
I think the scene is definitely quieter but its maybe not a bad thing.. Less is more sometimes and I’ve noticed by running Slinky, going from 11 dates in 2008 to only 4 this year was a good thing for us..they have all sold out and the buzz and hunger for the next one is really intense.
Who has been your producer of 2009?
The has been alot to be honest but I would have to say Sander Van Doorn..
Anything exciting planned for 2010 yet?
Lots of events with slinky, touring alot globally and working on a few new tracks and remixes so much of the same really.
Which DJs/Producers do you rate to make it big next year?
Ali Wilson is a man to watch as is Ben Gold… two names we had on at Slinky in 2009 and these guys will do really well in 2010
You have played at a fair few BIG parties before, when you think of BIG, what do you think of?
I have known Ben for a number of years and he has the same ideas as me when it comes to events., Its all about building a brand people feel apart of and I think he has done just that.
Whats the best, Facebook, Twitter or DSI?
Facebook for me
If you could be any, which hero or villain would you be?
Superman..
If you could choose, which super power would you like to have?
X-Ray vision for sure.. I am nearly blind without my glasses so I would nice to to be able to see perfectly and through things lol
Are you coming in fancy dress, if so who are you coming as?
No i’m afraid not.. I will doing my Clarke Kent impression
What can we expect from you at the next BIG
I think I am playing early so some groovey and techy beats for sure!
